Nonlinear- and time resolved spectroscopy and imaging

Most activities currently focus on imaging and spectroscopy based on second-harmonic generation (SHG), and to a limited extent, two-photon luminescence (TPL) and sum-frequency generation (SFG). Other activities include short pulse optics and transient absorption spectroscopy. Current activities include:

  • SHG and SFG spectroscopy of nanostructures and nanostructured materials
  • Time-resolved TPL spectroscopy and imaging
  • Transient absorption (or reflection) spectroscopy

Terahertz optics and spectroscopy

Our terahertz-optics activities focus on developing new compact devices for terahertz imaging and spectroscopy by combining our expertise in optics, materials research and micro-fabrication. Current activities include:

  • Development of compact integrated terahertz sources (CITS project)
  • Design, fabrication and characterization of photoconductive THz antennas (PCAs)
  • Design of microstructured graded-index substrate lenses for PCAs
  • Terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS)
  • Terahertz frequency-domain spectroscopy (THz-FDS)
